Frequently asked questions
Which descaler do I use for a copper-tube heat exchanger?
NANO CLEAN. It is the inhibitor-enhanced descaler for copper, aluminium, galvanised steel and mixed-metal systems. Use NANO CLEAN 100 for steel and cast-iron equipment. Every acidic cleaning is completed with NANO CLEAN NR.
Do I need NANO CLEAN NR after cleaning?
Yes. Acidic residues left in the system after descaling or flushing have to be neutralised before start-up and before discharge. NANO CLEAN NR restores system pH and is the last step of every chemical cleaning.
What is the difference between NANOSAFE X and NANOSAFE X 100?
NANOSAFE X is for closed-loop heating, cooling and hot water circulation systems that do not boil. NANOSAFE X 100 is formulated for steam boilers and steam generators and is also suitable for closed-loop heating systems. Where steam may contact food or dairy products, the product is NANOSAFE X 200 HAL.
Does NANOSAFE X 200 HAL meet food industry requirements?
It is formulated in compliance with FDA criteria for boiler water treatment in food and dairy applications. The technical data sheet states the formulation basis.
Which product goes into a cooling tower?
NANOSAFE X 400 DC for scale, dispersion and corrosion control in open-circuit cooling towers and tower-connected heat exchangers, on treated (softened) make-up water. NANOSAFE BIOCID for bacteria, algae and biofilm. NANOSAFE X 300 conditions the chiller, AHU and fancoil water circuits.
How much product does a closed loop need?
Typical continuous dosage for NANOSAFE X and NANOSAFE X 100 is 0.3–0.6 L/m³ of system volume, adjusted to water quality and operating conditions. Monitor hardness, conductivity and pH, and analyse the system water periodically.
Can you seal a leak without opening the wall or the floor?
WTR RESIST is circulated through the system or applied to the structure and seals micro-leaks and capillary seepage from inside: closed-loop piping, swimming pools, terraces and rooftops, subfloors and screed, without dismantling or excavation.
What documentation do you supply?
A technical data sheet for every product (downloadable), the Dubai trade licence and a work record for every service. Reference lists by sector are available on request.
What packaging is available?
1 kg, 25 kg and 1000 kg IBC for all products except WTR RESIST, which is supplied in 1 kg and 25 kg. Shelf life is 24 months in original containers under the recommended storage conditions.
Do you supply only, or apply as well?
Both. Kuvars Chem supplies the products to facility teams and contractors, and applies them with its own technical personnel as a service. The same technical team specifies the chemistry and dosage in both cases.
